When Should a Person Choose a Lipoaspiration?

       
Lipoaspiration, demanded by both women and men, is a surgery that consists in aspiration of fat excess on different areas of the body and allows the patient to return to his/her normal everyday life.
   
Lipoaspiration is chosen when other reducing methods have already been tried and showed no results. This surgery is an ambulatory surgery; i.e. patient must remain hospitalized a few hours. For practical reasons, spinal anesthesia is applied (On the spine up to the dura mater).

First, the surgeon injects some doses of physiologic solution on the area to be vacuumed; then inserts a catheter connected to a vacuum pump through a hole, and performs different maneuvers to remove fat tissue and vacuum it.

Since there is a certain limited amount of fat to be vacuumed; the patient is advised to have the lowest possible amount of fat by the time the surgery takes place so as to obtain better results.

When anesthesia effects have ceased, the patient can go home and normally carry out his/her everyday activities after three days.

Permanent results are observed through time; generally within six months after surgery. At doctor’s discretion, patient must use compressive bandage on the vacuumed area during 1 or 2 months.

The Professional performing the surgery should be a plastic surgeon since they are the ones in charge of performing all types of Aesthetic surgeries.

To improve the recovery period, it is advisable to start with rehabilitation treatments such as Cellular Micro massage* in areas with scars (through the catheter trajectory within the body); Cryo therapy* to improve areas with insensitivity and Vacum-Dermo-Mobilization* to improve corporal frame.
